TRAINING

DAY 1

GET READY faith leaders for a power-packed, day of GED ministry training, networking and resource sharing.  Learn how to launch and/or sustain a GED ministry at your church! Share best practice examples and success stories.

NOTE: All events on Day 1 are virtual!

SERVICE

DAY 2

Show up to support fellow believers who answered the call to develop and/or grow a GED ministry by volunteering virtually with their GED ministries. NOTE: Everyone who completes the conference registration will be invited to choose one online virtual service event in support of a US-based, GED ministry or to be a GED Ministry host-site for virtual volunteers.

 

NOTE:  All events on Day 2 are virtual! 

WORSHIP

DAY 3

Sign your church up for GED Sunday, & receive a digital GED Sunday Toolkit to help you share information about adult literacy statistics and pray for ABE/GED students and adult education professionals in your community

OR

Sign-up to attend a virtual church service scheduled to host a GED Sunday activity (i.e. provide adult literacy statistics and pray for ABE/GED students & adult education professionals in your community.)

Why Should YOU Attend?

 

As noted by a prominent, US-based literacy foundation, “literacy is the key to solving everything (including healthcare, poverty, crime rates, and unemployment.” Many US-based churches serve in communities (both rural and urban) where illiteracy really is a driving force behind the rising rates of poverty, crime, violence and other socio-economic ills.  The creation of GED ministries within US-based churches is not only an excellent way to encourage domestic missions, but it is a common sense approach to community outreach and development.

 

The 2022 GED Ministry Conference: How to Run an Effective Adult Literacy Program offers faith leaders the opportunity to connect virtually with other ministries across the nation working to launch or sustain structured ABE/GED ministries  that help low-literate adult learners enhance their literacy skills and workforce development options.  This conference also offers faith leaders, who may not want to start a GED ministry at their own church, the opportunity to adopt another church's GED ministry as its domestic missions outreach.
